Part 2 The Evidence of a True Walk

In this episode, we continue through 2 Peter and confront a sobering truth—spiritual growth is not optional. Peter challenges believers to examine whether they are increasing in godly character or becoming spiritually blind. We also see a powerful reminder: God knows how to rescue the godly and judge the unrighteous. This episode calls us to intentional growth and unwavering trust in God’s deliverance.
Peter urges believers to diligently add to their faith virtue, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. These qualities are not just suggestions—they are evidence of a growing and effective Christian life.
A lack of growth leads to spiritual blindness. When we stop growing, we forget that we were cleansed from our old sins. This forgetfulness dulls conviction and weakens our walk.
Peter then shifts to assurance—those who grow in these things will not fall. Their calling and election are confirmed through a fruitful life.
Finally, we are reminded of God’s justice and mercy. Just as He judged the wicked in the past, He also knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation. This gives us confidence in both His righteousness and His rescue.
