When the World Pushes Back

What happens when standing for truth makes you a target? In this episode, we explore Jesus’ warning that the world will hate those who follow Him—and what that actually looks like in real life. From the early church in Acts to the warnings in the epistles, Scripture shows us that resistance, deception, and spiritual opposition are not new.
But neither is victory.
This episode will help you understand why the pushback comes, how to recognize false teaching and cultural pressure, and how to stay grounded in truth without compromise.
Show Notes
1. Expect Resistance (John 15:18–21, John 16:2–3)
Jesus made it clear: following Him would not win the approval of the world. The hatred isn’t personal—it’s spiritual. The world rejects Christ, so it rejects those who belong to Him.
2. Truth Disrupts Darkness (Acts 19:1, 8, 18–20)
When truth is preached, lives change. In Ephesus, people turned from sin, burned their idols, and publicly repented. Real revival always confronts darkness.
3. Opposition Often Comes with Influence (Acts 19:24–28)
The silversmiths opposed Paul not because he was wrong—but because truth threatened their profit and power. Don’t be surprised when truth disrupts systems.
4. A Falling Away Was Promised (1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Timothy 3:5, 2 Timothy 4:3–4, Jude 1:17–18)
Scripture warns of a time when people will reject sound doctrine and chase what feels good. We are living in a time where truth is often replaced with preference.
5. Stay Rooted and Keep Building (Jude 1:20–21)
Our response is not fear—it’s faithfulness. Build yourself up, pray in the Holy Ghost, stay in God’s love, and keep looking for His mercy.
