Part 1 Equipped for Growth

What does it truly mean to be called by God—and are we living like it? In this opening episode of our journey through 2 Peter, we explore the powerful truth that believers are not only saved by grace, but also equipped with everything needed for a life of godliness. God’s call is not casual—it is a call to glory, holiness, and transformation. Join us as we lay the foundation for spiritual growth and examine what it means to walk worthy of the calling we’ve received.

Primary Texts:
- 2 Peter 1:1–4
- 1 Thessalonians 2:12
- 2 Corinthians 7:1
- 1 John 3:3
Key Themes:
1. A Faith of Equal Standing (2 Peter 1:1)
Peter reminds believers that their faith is just as precious as that of the apostles—not because of who they are, but because of who Christ is. This sets the tone: our standing is rooted in His righteousness, not our performance.
2. Grace and Peace Multiplied (2 Peter 1:2)
Spiritual growth begins with knowing God deeply. Grace and peace are not static—they increase as we grow in relationship with Him.
3. Equipped for Godliness (2 Peter 1:3)
God has already given us everything we need to live a godly life. The issue is not lack of provision, but whether we are walking in what He has provided.
4. Called to Glory and Virtue (2 Peter 1:3; 1 Thessalonians 2:12)
Our calling is upward—into God’s kingdom, His glory, and a life that reflects His character.
5. Exceeding Great and Precious Promises (2 Peter 1:4)
God’s promises are not empty—they are powerful tools for transformation, enabling us to escape the corruption of the world.
6. Pursuing Holiness Daily (2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 John 3:3)
Because of what God has done, we are called to actively cleanse ourselves and pursue holiness with intention and hope.
