Contend Without Compromise: Guarding the Truth of the Gospel

Contend Without Compromise: Guarding the Truth of the Gospel

In a time where truth is often softened, altered, or avoided, believers are called to stand firm. This episode explores what it means to earnestly contend for the faith without drifting into compromise or silence. Through powerful moments—from Jesus cleansing the temple to Paul confronting Peter—we see that guarding truth requires both courage and conviction.

This is not about being combative—it’s about being faithful.

Key Verse (KJV)

Jude 1:3 – “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Show Notes

1. The Call to Contend (Jude 1:3-4)

• The faith has already been delivered—no additions, no alterations.

• False teachings don’t always appear obvious—they “creep in unnoticed.”

• Contending is not optional—it is necessary.

2. Jesus and Righteous Confrontation (John 2:13-16)

• Jesus did not tolerate corruption in the temple.

• There is a time for bold, visible action against what dishonors God.

• Silence in the face of wrong can enable it.

3. Paul Confronts Compromise (Galatians 2:11-14)

• Even leaders can drift into hypocrisy.

• Paul confronted Peter publicly because the error was public.

• Truth must outweigh reputation or relationships.

4. Mark and Avoid (Romans 16:17-18)

• Not all division is bad—sometimes it protects the truth.

• False teaching often comes wrapped in “good words and fair speeches.”

• Discernment is essential in guarding your walk.
