Fan the Flame and Stand Firm

In a world that constantly presses against our faith, we are not called to shrink back — we are called to stand. In this episode, we explore Paul’s charge in Ephesians 6:10–13 to put on the whole armor of God and his reminder to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:5–7 to stir up the gift within him.
Standing firm is not passive. It requires spiritual strength, a guarded mind, and a heart that refuses fear. God has not given us a spirit of fear — but of power, love, and a sound mind.
If you’ve been feeling weary, intimidated, or spiritually drained, this episode will remind you: you were built to stand.
1. Be Strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6:10)
Our strength is not self-generated. It is drawn from the Lord. We don’t stand in our own ability — we stand in His might.
2. Put On the Whole Armor (Ephesians 6:11–13)
Paul makes it clear: partial armor won’t do. The enemy is strategic, but so is our defense. We prepare before the battle, not during it.
3. Recognize the Real Battle
The struggle is not against flesh and blood. The enemy often uses discouragement, fear, doubt, and distraction. We must discern spiritual warfare when we see it.
4. Fan the Flame (2 Timothy 1:5–6)
Timothy had sincere faith, but Paul still told him to stir up the gift. Faith must be nurtured. Spiritual fire must be maintained.
5. Reject Fear (2 Timothy 1:7)
Fear paralyzes. God gives:
• Power to endure
• Love to stay steady
• A sound mind to think clearly
Standing firm requires courage rooted in truth.

Short Prayer
Lord, strengthen me with Your might. Help me to put on the whole armor and recognize the true battle before me. Stir up the faith You’ve placed inside of me. Remove fear and fill me with power, love, and a sound mind. Teach me to stand — and having done all, to stand firm. In Jesus’ name, amen.
