Eyes on Jesus

Eyes on Jesus

Endurance is not just about strength—it’s about focus. In Part 2 of Run With Endurance, we shift our attention to the One who makes finishing possible: Jesus.

Drawing from Hebrews 12:2–3, the story of Peter walking on the water in Matthew 14, and Paul’s relentless pursuit in Philippians 3, this episode reveals a powerful truth: when your focus drifts, your faith weakens—but when your eyes stay on Jesus, you find strength to keep going.

If you’ve been feeling weary, distracted, or close to giving up, this episode will call you back to what matters most—fixing your eyes on Christ and pressing forward no matter what.

Show Notes

Main Theme:

You will only finish well if you stay focused on Jesus.

Key Points:

1. Jesus is both the starting point and the finish line (Hebrews 12:2)

• He is the author and finisher of our faith

• Our endurance comes from Him, not ourselves

• The race is not about self-effort—it’s about Christ-centered focus

2. Losing focus leads to sinking (Matthew 14:28–32)

• Peter walked on water while looking at Jesus

• He began to sink when he focused on the storm

• The problem wasn’t the waves—it was misplaced focus

3. Consider Him when you feel weary (Hebrews 12:3)

• Jesus endured contradiction, suffering, and the cross

• Remembering His endurance strengthens ours

• Weariness grows when we look inward instead of upward

4. Press forward with purpose (Philippians 3:10–14)

• Paul refused to look back

• He stayed focused on the prize

• Spiritual progress requires intentional pursuit

Application Questions

1. What distractions are currently pulling your focus away from Jesus?

2. In what areas of your life do you feel like you’re “sinking”?

3. How can you intentionally refocus on Christ this week?

4. What does “pressing toward the mark” look like in your daily walk?

5. How does remembering what Jesus endured change your perspective on your struggles?

Short Prayer

Lord, help me to fix my eyes on You. When distractions come and challenges rise, remind me that my strength is found in You alone. Give me endurance to keep running and faith to keep trusting. Help me finish strong. In Jesus’ name, amen.
