Called Not Qualified - Episode 2399

Called Not Qualified - Episode 2399

God doesn’t call the perfect, polished, or powerful—He calls the humble, the willing, and the brokenhearted. In this episode, we look at how Jesus chose people others overlooked and why true qualification in God’s kingdom isn’t about outward success but inner surrender. From the calling of Levi the tax collector to the encounter with the rich young ruler, we’ll explore what it means to truly respond to God’s call and not just appear religious on the outside.

Many people think they’re not good enough to serve God, but Scripture reminds us that God deliberately chooses those the world might reject. Paul tells the Corinthians that God uses the foolish and the weak to demonstrate His wisdom and strength.

When Jesus called Levi, a tax collector, He was calling someone despised by society. Yet Levi left everything to follow Him. In contrast, the rich young ruler walked away sorrowful because his heart was tied to his possessions.

Jesus also revealed that spiritual blindness isn’t about physical sight—it’s about refusing to see our need for Him. And in Matthew, He warned that not everyone who calls Him “Lord” truly knows Him.

The question for us is this: are we responding to His call with humble obedience or relying on our own perceived qualifications?
