Busy But Are You Fruitful
We often wear busyness like a badge of honor. Our calendars are full, our schedules are packed, and our to-do lists never seem to end. But does being busy mean we’re doing what God has called us to do?

We Live in a Busy World
Our culture celebrates being busy. We often answer “How are you?” with “Busy!” as though it were an accomplishment.
But busyness alone isn’t evidence of spiritual maturity.
Sometimes the enemy doesn’t have to make us bad—he only has to keep us busy enough to neglect what matters most.

God Created You With Purpose
Ephesians 2:10
Paul reminds us that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand.
The goal isn’t to do everything.
The goal is to do what God prepared for us.
Ask yourself:
- Am I doing God’s work?
- Or am I simply doing work?

Martha and Mary
Luke 10:38-42
Martha wasn’t doing anything sinful.
She was serving.
Yet Jesus gently corrected her because her service had become a distraction from spending time with Him.
Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet.
Before we serve Christ…
We must spend time with Christ.
Our ministry should flow from our relationship—not replace it.

The Enemy Loves Distractions
2 Corinthians 4:4
Paul says the god of this world blinds the minds of unbelievers.
One of Satan’s greatest tools is distraction.
Not every distraction is sinful.
Some distractions are simply good things that keep us from the best things.
If Satan can’t destroy your testimony…
He’ll often try to distract your attention.

Activity Doesn’t Equal Obedience
Matthew 7:21-23
Jesus warned that many would point to everything they had done in His name.
Yet He would say, “I never knew you.”
The issue wasn’t activity.
The issue was relationship and obedience.
God never asked us to impress Him with our accomplishments.
He asks us to know Him and faithfully obey Him.

Final Thought
Don’t measure your life by how busy you are.
Measure it by how faithfully you’re following Jesus.
Sometimes the holiest thing you can do is slow down long enough to hear God’s voice.
Because it’s possible to have a full schedule…
…and an empty soul.

Father, help me to focus on what truly matters. Keep me from becoming so busy that I neglect my relationship with You. Give me wisdom to recognize distractions and courage to follow the work You have prepared specifically for me. May my life be marked not by endless activity, but by faithful obedience.
